Slavutych City State Archives (now Archives Department Slavutych City Council) was established July 2, 1987 the City Council.

In 1991 came the first archival documents.

Since 1991 the archive was located in the premises of the Executive Committee (Lenihradskyy quarter 3a).

In 2001 the newly allocated space in the executive committee.

  In 2002 the town was reorganized into the State Archives Archives Department Slavutych City Council.

Stored in the archive section documents the National Archival Fund (NAF) and personnel liquidated institutions.

Since 1987, the state Slavutych city archive was subordinate to the City Council and its Executive Committee, and archival of Kiev Oblast Executive Committee.

Since 1999, the city archives subordinate to the executive committee and the Mayor and controlled by the State Archive of Kiev Oblast.

Since 2002, the Archives Department is accountable to and controlled by the City Council and the Mayor, subject to its Executive Committee and the State Archive of Kiev Oblast.

From 1987 to 1989 was head of the Archives Sadovoy Vladimir.
